Deciding what to try next in Elvis’ vast catalog can be confusing. Single disc releases tend to focus on well-worn greatest hits, while deeper exploration often requires navigating massive box sets.

As a next step, may I instead recommend this simple playlist of select studio outtakes, rehearsals, and live performances from 1970?

  1. Being an old fart, I’d suggest to any still-curious reader to get copies of On Stage February 1970, That’s the Way It Is, and Elvis Country and listen to them in that order.

    But I would be forgetting that most readers not only do not have turntables (“The horror. The horror.”), but they don’t have CD players eithrer!

    As someone once famous once said, “So it goes …”
